More then 40 Army Reserve Soldiers reenlisted at Fenway Park this past September 11. BG Oscar De Priest, Commander, 804th Medical Brigade, administrated the oath of reenlistment as Soldiers from units located in Massachusetts, stood shoulder-to-shoulder pledging their continued allegiance.
Family members watched as the Boston Fire Department Acappella Choir opened the ceremony with the National Anthem. Retired Lieutenant Colonel Sam Poulten, who was in the service on September 11, 2001, played taps on a cornet that he played at the World Trade Center and again in Baghdad.
The event planned for Region 1, Army Reserve Careers Office to say thank you for the support of US troops and their Families by the Red Sox and the Red Sox Foundation.
