Winds of Change

One June 15th 2010, Region 6, of the Army Reserve Careers Division conducted a Change of Command ceremony at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL. Soldiers, leaders and family members assembled inside the National Museum of Naval Aviation to watch Lieutenant Colonel Lonnie D. Lawrence pass the Battalion colors on to Lieutenant Colonel William N. Nutter.

Lt. Colonel Nutter is a hard-charging leader who previously worked in Public Affairs with the US Army Reserve Command in Atlanta. He is confident his Soldiers will maintain their hard-work ethic and do what they can to keep Region 6 atop of the leader board.

“It is really exciting to be part of a command that has a history of exceeding mission expectations,” said Lt. Colonel Nutter. “I am confident Region 6 Soldiers will carry on their winning tradition with their hard work ethic and simply just being the best they can be. I truly believe that Region 6 sets the standard for success in the Army Reserve Careers Division field.”

After several very successful years at the helm of Region 6, Army Reserve Careers Division, Lt. Colonel Lawrence decided to step away from the retention world. During his tenure with Region 6, Lt. Colonel Lawrence was the driving force behind his Region winning the top spot amongst the other 12 Regions for overall mission production in FY2008 and FY2009. Lt. Colonel Lawrence expected his Soldiers to perform to the best of their ability and to always give 100%. He is currently working as the Central Regional Deputy Director with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, National Committee for Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).

The Soldiers of Region 6 wish the best of luck to Lt. Colonel Lawrence throughout his future endeavors and look forward to continuing to work hard for their new Commander.
