SGT John Cook of Rock Hill, SC is a member of the 371st Chemical Company. Enlisting in 2006 as a 74D (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Specialist), SGT Cook was brought in to the Army Reserve via a “buddy program” when a good friend since fourth grade enlisted in the unit.
In addition to normal Battle Assemblies and Annual Training, SGT Cook has remained busy with his Army Reserve career by attending two or three additional MOS-related courses every year, such as Mass Casualty Decon Training and CBRN Responder Course. He finds the military complements his career very well and he “liked the change of scenery.”
SGT Cook works for Steel Fab, a steel fabricating company, and is planning to attend the 74D Warrant Officer program and remaining in the Chemical Corps. His wife, Rachael, is pregnant with the couple’s first child.
