Army Reserve Career Counselor of the Year
Sgt. 1st Class Erin M. Miller entered the United States Army in December 2002 as a 68WION3, Health Care Specialist and Occupational Therapy Assistant, Her units of assignment included the 528th Combat Stress Control Detachment, 261’` Area Support Medical Battalion at Fort Bragg, and the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital at Fort Leonard Wood. Sgt. 1st Class Miller served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from April 2005 to April 2006 in Ad Diwaniyah directly supporting 14 coalition forces on a Combat Stress Control team. After her time spent on Active Duty, Sgt. 1st Class Miller reclassed in the Army Reserve as a Career Counselor. She has been a part of 3rd Battalion, Army Reserve Careers Division since January 2013.
Sgt. 1st Class Miller has completed Warrior Leadership Course achieving Commandant’s List and Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course achieving Distinguished Honor Graduate. She has also completed the Army Reserve Career Counselor Course as the Distinguished Honor Graduate, Duty Appointed Reenlistment Noncommissioned Officer Workshop, Health Care Specialist Course achieving Soldier of the Cycle, Occupational Therapy Assistant Course, Level I Combat ives Course, Field Sanitation Course, and Advanced Rifle Marksmanship Training, Sgt. 1st Class Miller was selected as the 2013 ri Battalion Army Reserve Career Counselor of the Year.
Her awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (3 Oak Lear Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 2), Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Ribbon, German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge, Overseas Service Bars (2), and Career Counselor Badge.
Sgt. 1st Class Miller has completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and also has her Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. In addition to her duties as a Career Counselor, Sgt. 1st Class Miller is the mother of a three-year-old.
Sgt. 1st Class Miller’s short-term career goals are to be selected for induction into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Association, to win the 2013 ARCD Career Counselor of the Year Board, and to enroll in her first Graduate level classes. Her long-term goals are to retire from the Army Reserves as a Sergeant Major, to complete her Master’s Degree, and to hike the entire Appalachian Trail.
