Army Reserve Career Counselor of the Year
Staff Sgt. Kelly D. Bresley was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois and moved frequently as a child. She enlisted in the U. S. Army on February 2, 1995, attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and received her first MOS, Carpentry and Masonry Specialist (51B), at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. She received her second MOS, Technical Engineering Specialist (51T), in 2000 and her third Heavy Construction Equipment Operator (21E), in 2006 both at Fort Leonard Wood. She received her fourth MOS, Army Reserve Career Counselor (79V) in 2009 at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. Her previous assignments include 94th Engineers, 130th Engineer Brigade, Vilseck, Germany; 416th Engineers Battalion, Darien, Illinois; 94th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; 317th Engineer Company, 416th Engineers Battalion, Darien, IL. Her current assignment is 9th Battalion Army Reserves Careers Division, Area 5, Fort Sheridan, IL.
Staff Sgt. Bresley has held the following positions: Vertical Construction Team Leader, AutoCad Section Liaison, Horizontal Construction Squad Leader, and Career Counselor.
Staff Sgt. Bresley has attended the Army Schools of Drivers Training, Basic Terramodel Design, Unit Prevention Leader and Master Resiliency Trainer. She graduated from Heartland Community College with an Associate in Arts in 2009.
She has received the following awards, Army Achievement Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Staff Sgt. Bresley’s short-term goals are to deploy next year and promoted next February.
Her long-term goals are to finish her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, complete the Battle Staff Course and complete the Army Instructor Course.
Staff Sgt. Bresley stationed at Fort Sheridan, Illinois, with her husband and three daughters. Her son is an analyst in with the U. S. Air Force.
