SSG Hoyle, Winora W.

SSG Winora Hoyle is originally from New Jersey and moved to South Carolina 23 years ago. She enlisted in the Army in 1980 as a 76P (Material Accounting and Control Specialist) and is now a 42A (Human Resources) with Instructor (“8”) identifier.

Serving with the 3/321st RGM Light Training 104th DIV as the Company S1 and Human Resources Manager, SSG Hoyle was also the sponsor for SPC Sanders at the Warrior Competition in 2011 at Fort Carson. She assisted in training Sanders, who won Soldier Of The Year at Fort Carson and has since advanced in the Best Warrior competition.

SSG Hoyle works for the Department Health and Environment Control, Division of WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program. “My civilian job is an admin support position and I love it. I do stats state-wide on special formula used for infant care.”

Prior to that SSG Hoyle was a was a police officer, the first black female policeman in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. She has since held a variety of positions, such as Vocation Rehabilitation in the Disability Determination Department and for the Department of Social Services and Office of Public Health.

Her future career plans are to apply and train to become a Warrant Officer.
