Why Did I Joined the Army Reserve?

I enlisted into the United States Army as a 13B, Cannoneer Crew Member on 07 March 1997. I also possess an 8 identifier which designates me as a Total Army Instructor. In the civilian sector, I am a student at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. I am pursuing a degree in nursing. Upon completion of my degree I plan on serving as an Army nurse.
My current unit of assignment is the 479th Field Artillery Brigade in Fort Hood, Texas.
While deployed to Iraq I served as a Combat Arms Advisor to the Iraqi Army Officer Corps. Duties included training and advising Iraqi Officers on combat skills and tactics . My most memorable experience on my last deployment was being baptized in the middle of the desert.
My military awards include: Overseas Service Bar (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal (4th Award) , National Defense Service Medal w/ Bronze Star, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (2nd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Service Medal w/M device, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal w/ Bronze Star, Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd Award), Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/M Device, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/ 10 year Device.
I was born in Cincinnati. OH, and attended high school at Lawton High School in Lawton, OK. I also attended the University of Oklahoma 1997-1999, Cameron University 2007-2010, and Central Texas College 2010-2011.
My hobbies include cooking, singing, going to the gym, and attending church with my family.
