Why I Stay Army Reserve

“I believe that is my duty to serve our great country. I care for my fellow Soldiers and want to continue to serve beside them all. I would encourage someone else to reenlist because of all the opportunities that the military presents to you. Not to mention the sense of family that you develop with your fellow brothers/sisters in arms.

I enlisted into the United States Military on 10 May 2005, as a 31B, Military Police. Currently assigned to 339th Military Police Company in Davenport, IA, my military awards include the Expert Pistol Qualification, Sharpshooter Rifle Qualification, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, GWOT Service, NDSM, Iraqi Campaign Medal w/ Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, AFRM w/M device, Overseas Training Ribbon, NCOPD Ribbon, Army Over Seas Service, Meritorious Unit.

I deployed to Iraq where I trained Iraqi Police to become better police officers as well as prison guards and successfully trained several prison guards to execute a force cell extraction of an inmate. The officers successfully implemented their training on an individual that was attempting to incite a riot in the cellblock.

I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, IA where I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, May 2003, and attended Kirkwood Community College.

My hobbies include playing guitar and bass as often as I can. I also try to attend open mic nights weekly.
