Army Reserve Career Counselor of the Year
Sergeant First Class Fennell is an Army Reserve Career Counselor (ARCC) assigned to the 10th Battalion, Army Reserve Careers Division. She is currently assigned over 267 Reserve Soldiers and 513 inactive Reserve Soldiers throughout the Southern Indiana area.
Sergeant First Class Fennell entered the Army in August 1998. Prior to her assignment as an ARCC in December 2006, she served as a transporter with the 993rd Transportation Company in Wilmington, North Carolina. While assigned there she attended training at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California. Sergeant First Class Fennell also received realistic skills and MOS training while supplying logistics to the 10th Mountain Division the Joint Reserve Training Center at Fort Pork, Louisiana.
In 2003, her Unit was mobilized to Camp Atterbury, Indiana tasked with the mission of providing installation support. During a period of two and half years, she worked as an ammunition supplier, range operations, food service supervisor, and a medical/dental driver.
Upon her demobilization, she transferred to the 85th Training Division, 3rd Brigade, 411th Regiment based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. There she provided over 20,000 gallons of fuel and water to outpost operations located throughout Camp Atterbury.
After serving 4 years as an ARCC, Sergeant First Class Fennell was distinctively selected to serve with 3rd Army, US Army Central (USARCENT), Team 12 at Camp Arifjan. Kuwait. Her twelve-month assignment in theater consisted of the reenlistment of over 100 Soldiers. She also acted as the Assistant Operations NCO processing over 450 actions for all theater Retention NCOs.
