1st Battalion, Army Reserve Careers Division, Army Reserve Career Counselor of the Year

Sgt. 1st Class Vanesa S. Phillips is an AGR Army Reserve Career Counselor. In 2006 as a Staff Sergeant with the 408th PSB, she was offered the opportunity to become an Army Reserve Career Counselor. Today she is assigned to 1st Battalion, Army Reserve Careers Division, Special Missions.

She entered the Army in September 1999. Prior to her assignment as an Army Reserve Career Counselor in March of 2007, she served as the Unit Administrator for the 408th PSB, Fort Totten, New York.

Sergeant First Class Phillips was also a member of the 316th AG Company Postal, Fort Totten, New York. As a member of the 316th AG CO Postal, she was mobilized in March 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom. While Deployed she served in Kuwait and Iraq.

Sergeant First Class Phillips has completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management. In addition to her duties as an AGR Army Reserve Career Counselor, Sergeant First Class Phillips is the proud mother of two children.
