Region 4 Career Counselor of the Year
Sgt. 1st Class Craig L. Ivery is an Army Reserve Career Counselor for Region 4, Area 7, at Fort Jackson, SC. He has been in this position since March 2008 when he began his first tour as a 79V.
He entered the Army in June 1990. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson. In September 2001, he transferred from Active Duty to the AGR program as a Human Resources NCO. His assignments include Ansbach, Germany, Camp Casey, Korea, Fort Bliss, Texas, Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Fort Gordon, Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina and Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
Sgt. 1st Class Ivery has attended the Air Assault Course, Equal Opportunity Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Army Practical Nurse Course, Unit Administrator Basic Course, Army Reserve Pay Course, Enlisted Distribution Assignment System (EDAS) course, Army Recruiter Course, Retention and Transition Course, and all NCOES courses.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5OLC), Army Good Conduct Award (5th Award), National Defense Service Ribbon (2), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, Army Superior Unit Award, Air Assault Badge, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 3), Southwest Asia Service Medal (3 bronze service stars), Saudi Arabian Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, Army Recruiter Badge (gold with 3 sapphires, Drivers Badge and the Career Counselor Badge.
Sgt. 1st Class Ivery has completed over 90 semester hours towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Religion and is currently enrolled at Liberty University of Lynchburg, VA.
