Sergeant First Class Anna M. Ash

Sergeant First Class Anna M. Ash is a native of Charlotte, North. Carolina. She entered the Army in May 1992 and attended Basic at Fort Jackson, SC and Advanced Individual Training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., graduating as an Animal Care Specialist.

Sgt. 1st Class Ash has served in several positions, including Non Commissioned Officer In Charge, Veterinary Clinic and Non Commissioned Officer In Charge Primate Section. She has been an Executive Administrative Assistant, Human Resource Non Commissioned Officer, Duty Appointed Retention Non Commissioned Officer, and Army Reserve Career Counselor. She is currently serving as an Accessions Career Counselor.

Sgt. 1st Class Ash’s overseas assignments include one tour of duty in Germany and one deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom/Enduring Freedom in Kuwait and Iraq. Her stateside assignments have been Fort Campbell, KY, Silver Spring, MD, Gaithersburg, MD, Fort Meade, MD, Greensboro, NC, Winston Salem, NC, High Point, NC and North Charleston, SC. She has completed the Army Ten Miler six times.

Sgt. 1st Class Ash has completed the Warrior Leadership Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Retention and Transition Noncommissioned Officers Course, Accessions Career Counselor Course, Transition Noncommissioned Officers Course, Duty Appointed Retention Noncommissioned Officers Course, and Combat Lifesaver course.

Her awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal with 1 silver oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal with GCM clasp (3rd award), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal with bronze service star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M device, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 2, Career Counselor Badge, German Armed Forces Marksmanship Badge (Schutzenschnur) in Gold and the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency in Gold.
