Army Reserve Career Counselor of the Year
Sgt. 1st Class Danielle L. Font is an Army Reserve Career Counselor assigned to support units in the Pacific region. In 2007; as a Staff Sergeant; she transferred to the Reserve Component through an RCCC at Fort Sill; Oklahoma while assigned to a Dental Service Company at Dobbins AFB in Georgia; she requested to become a TPU ARCC to assist her unit’s current AGR ARCC during Battle Assemblies. Today, she is assigned as an Army Reserve Career Counselor with Area 5, 7th Battalion, Army Reserve Careers Division with Duty at Fort Shatter Flats; Honolulu; HI.
She entered the Army in October 1996. Prior to assignment as an ARCC in December 2007; she served as a dental specialist in the Regular Army for 10 years. During her first assignment at Fort Polk. Louisiana; she deployed with the 2nd Armory Calvary Regiment; Medical Support Squadron to Bosnia. In June 2001 she submitted her packet to become a Registered Dental Hygienist and was selected over her peers to attend the two-year program. She completed her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene in May 2003 while in the AMEDD Student detachment at Fort Sam Houston; Texas. Font has also held the assignment of Dental Clinic Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge at Camp Ederle Dental Clinic in Vicenza; Italy from 2003 to 2006 and the Hospital Surgery Dental clinic at Fort Sill; Oklahoma immediately after. During her transition from Regular Army to the Reserve Component, she requested to re-class to an Army Reserve Career Counselor.
Font has completed the Warrior Leaders Course; Basic Non-commissioned Officers Course; Advanced Non-commissioned Officers Course; Army Reserve Career Counselor Course; Accessions Non-commissioned Officers Course; Battle Staff Non-commissioned Officers Course; Equal Opportunity Leader Course; Unit Prevention Leader Course and the NBC Officer Course.
Her awards and decorations includes a Meritorious Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal with 2 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters; Army Achievement Medal with I Silver Oak Leaf Cluster and 1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Good Conduct Medal with 2 knots on the Good Conduct Medal Clasp; National Defense Service Medal Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Armed Forces Service Medal; Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Bronze Arabic Numeral 3; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; and the United Nations Medal.
In addition to her duties as an Active Guard Reserve Soldier, Sgt. 1st Class Font has a son and two daughters.
