Sgt. 1st Class Kelli M. Harr, a native of South Bend, Indiana, enlisted into the U.S. Army on March 3, 2000. She attended Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and received her MOS training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina as a 63B (Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic). Sgt. 1st Class Han reclassified as a 79V (Army Reserve Career Counselor) in May 2005.
Her previous assignments include: 204th FSB, Fort Hood, TX; 602nd ASB, Camp Stanley, Korea; 1215th GSU, Fort Drum, NY; 6th Battalion, Army Reserve Careers Division w/duty Rome, GA and 9th Battalion, Army Reserve Careers Division w/duty Topeka, KS. She was deployed as a 79V in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006-2007 and was assigned to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait and Al Qayyarah West, Iraq during that time period.
Sgt. 1st Class Harr has held the following positions: Communications Specialist, Orderly Room Non Commissioned Officer In Charge, PLL Non Commissioned Officer In Charge, Army Reserve Career Counselor, and Officer Accessions Career Counselor. She has also served as a Social Media representative for Army Reserve Careers Division for the past three years.
Sgt. 1st Class Harr has completed the Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Retention and Transition Noncommissioned Officer Course, Equal Opportunity Representative Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Accessions Career Counselor Course, Duty Appointed Retention Noncommissioned Officer Course and H8 Recovery Course. Sgt. 1st Class Harr is working toward a Master of Homeland Security degree from Penn State University and is enrolled in the Battle Staff Course.
Her awards include: ARCOM(4); AAM(2); GCM(2); ARCAM; NDSM; ICM(2); GWOTSM; KDSM; AFRM w/M device; NCOPDR(3); ASR; OSR(2); GAFPB(GOLD), and the Career Counselor Badge.
Sgt. 1st Class Harr’s short term goals are to be inducted into the SAMC and complete a Tough Mudder competition. Sgt. 1st Class Harr’s long term goals include earning her Master’s Degree, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major and opening a photography studio.
Currently, Sgt. 1st Class Harr is stationed in Topeka, KS as an Officer Accessions Career Counselor. For the past three years, Sgt. 1st Class Harr has volunteered as a cheerleading coach with the Boys & Girls Club and currently serves as a mentor for the “Girls on the Run” program through the YMCA.
