Sergeant First Class Paul R. Nunez entered the United States Army Active Component on October 18, 1996 from New York City, NY in the MOS 31L (Cable System Installer). SFC Nunez attended and graduated from Basic Combat Training in Fort Leonardwood, MO from October to December 1996. SFC Nunez then went on to attend and further graduate Advanced Individual Training in Ft. Gordon, GA from January to March 1997.
SIC Nunez’ first duty station was Ft. Knox, KY where he was assigned to B Co USAARMC from March 1997 until April 1998. SFC was assigned to the Directorate of Information Management where his duties included troubleshooting LAN lines, installing telephones and LAN lines for units throughout the post.
SFC Nunez was then assigned to HHB 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery in Baumholder, Germany from April 1998 until April 2001 where he worked in the Communications Shop. During SFC Nunez tenure here, he attended the COMSEC Custodian Course and assigned the COMSEC custodian for the Battalion. SFC Nunez was also promoted to the rank of Sergeant and attended and graduated from the Primary Leadership Development Course in Grafenwhoer, Germany.
SFC Nunez deployed with the 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery to Kosovo from November 2000 until April 2001 in support of KFOR. SFC Nunez changed his permanent duty station to the 69th Signal Company under the 11th Signal Brigade in Ft. Huachuca, AZ from May 2001 until September 2002. Here SFC Nunez was assigned as a Team Chief of the Pole Team. SIC Nunez was also assigned as a Squad Leader to the post Honor Guard where he conducted Military Funerals, Change of Command ceremonies and Color Guard for post events.
SFC Nunez was selected to attend and graduated from the U.S. Army Recruiter School in Ft. Jackson, SC where he was then assigned to the New York City Recruiting Battalion in Ft. Hamilton, NY from September 2002 until May 2006. During his tenure as a Recruiter, he attended and graduated from Basic Non Commissioned Officer Course in Ft. Gordon, GA.
On May 2006, SFC Nunez ended his term of service in the Regular Army and joined the U.S. Army Reserve in the Active Guard Reserve program in Ft. Totten, NY where he reclassified to MOS 79V Army Reserve Career Counselor. SIC Nunez attended and graduated from 79V school in Ft. McCoy, WI in 2009 where he was then assigned to the Orangeburg United States Army Reserve Center in Orangeburg, NY from July 2006 until February 2010.
SFC Nunez attended and graduated with honors the Advanced Non Commissioned Officer Course in Ft. McCoy, WI in 2008.
SFC Nunez was then assigned in his current position as an Army Reserve Career Counselor in the Rattlesnake USARC in Tampa, FL
