Sergeant First Class Leslie A. Beltran

Sergeant First Class Leslie A. Beltran is a native of Lancaster, Ohio, but lived in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania from the age of four until she enlisted in the Army. She enlisted in the Army in September 1986. She attended Basic at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. After Advanced Individual Training, she served as a Chaplain Assistant at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She deployed with Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky from August 1990 to March 1991 in support of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. After her completion of active duty, she transferred to the Army Reserve serving as a Dental Specialist with a unit in Chester, Pennsylvania. In 1998, as a motivated Staff Sergeant, she became a Retention and Transition Non Commissioned Officer with the 99th RSC.

Sgt. 1st Class Beltran is currently assigned to Army Reserve Careers Division, 2 Battalion, Area 4, as the Army Reserve Career Counselor at the Harrisburg Armed Forces Reserve Center (AFRC), located in Harrisburg, PA. In 2003, as a Staff Sergeant, she was assigned to the 99th Regional Support Command to start her duty as a Retention and Transition Non Commissioned Officer. She was assigned to the Harrisburg AFRC as the Battle Assembly Army Reserve Career Counselor through August of 2009 at which time she became the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Army Reserve Career Counselor.

Sgt. 1st Class Beltran has completed the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course (Honor Roll for GPA), Retention and Transition Course (Honor Roll for GPA), Dental Specialist Course (Honor Graduate for GPA), Preventive Dentistry Specialty Course, Chaplain Assistant Course, Unit Victim Advocate Course, Battle Staff, Supervisor’s Development Course, Combatives Trainer Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, and Air Assault School.

Sgt. 1st Class Beltran’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Achievement Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with bronze star, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 bronze stars, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Air Assault Badge, Career Counselor Badge and the German Armed Forces Badge.

Sgt. 1st Class Beltran completed her Associates Degree of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Penn State University at Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2001.
