Sergeant First Class Shane Eric Larson

Sergeant First Class Shane Eric Larson is from Huntingdon, PA. He entered the Army in November 1999 and attended Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood MO, graduating as a 31 B (Military Police).

Sgt. 1st Class Larson has served in several Leadership positions, including: Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Company Operations and Battalion Staff.

Sgt. 1st Class Larson’s assignments include 10 years at Fort Bragg, NC and his current assignment as an Army Reserve Career Counselor (2D Battalion, Area 4) with duties at Letterkenny Army Depot located in Chambersburg, PA. He has been on five deployments which included Kosovo, Afghanistan and three tours to Iraq. He has spent 45 months In Combat and a total of 51 months deployed overseas.

Sgt. 1st Class Larson’s military education Includes the Emergency Lifesaver Course, Basic Airborne School, Air Assault School, Pre-deployment Protective Service Detail School, Warrior Leadership Course, Jumpmaster School, Air Movement Operations, US Air Force Airlift Planners Course, Military Police (MP) Battalion COC (Distinguished Honor Grad for highest Army Physical Fitness Test score), Antiterrorism Level II Instructor, Combative Level I and II Instructor, Army Reserve Career Counselor MOS School and 79V A Non Commissioned Officer C (Distinguished Honor Grad for highest Grade Point Average).

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star with two oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with Valor Device, Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one Campaign Star, Iraqi Campaign Medal with three Campaign Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with “3” device, Army Service Ribbon, Over Seas Ribbon with “3” device, Kosovo NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Senior Rated Parachutist Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Career Counselor Badge, Drivers/Mechanic Badge, German Parachutist Badge and Chilean Parachutist Badge.

Sgt. 1st Class Larson has 800 credit hours of Army correspondence courses and 60 semester hours with Central Texas College in pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.
